Crossroads Care is a national organisation, with schemes all over Wales and England. Our scheme is the only Crossroads Care scheme in the borough of Bridgend and therefore our registered name has been changed to:- CROSSROADS CARE BRIDGEND COUNTY, to reflect the fact that we now aim to provide care services across the borough. We provide short respite care breaks for young and adult carers, who care for members of their family or friends who are over the age of 18.
We are a registered charity (1090534) and a company limited by guarantee (4241382). We have been in existence since 1993.
We are registered with the Care & Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW).
As a carer, you may wish to have a break from your caring role to enable you to continue working, during the day, evening or night and/or have some time for yourself for social activities, going shopping, attending classes, having a full nights sleep etc.
A trained and paid member of our staff would come to the home of the person you care for, to look after them there or take them out for an outing (if this is appropriate) and give you peace of mind, whilst you have a break, or whilst you are working.
Our staff also run a small social club, providing activities for people with dementia
on Saturdays, between 10 a.m.- 4 p.m., for up to 10 people in Minerva Street,Bridgend. Members enjoy each others company, plus the hot lunch and activities on offer, plus you receive a break for a few hours as their Carer.
Families can self refer for Minerva Street and this service is free of charge, apart from a £5 cost for lunch and refreshments and a contribution for petrol if a lift is required.
If you are interested in receiving a service for the person you care for, please contact us.
YOU ARE WELCOME TO USE THIS SERVICE WEEKLY, FORTNIGHTLY OR MONTHLY, AS YOU CHOOSE.
