A group of parents south of the M4 have decided its time to give something back for the marvellous support they received during pregnancy from Glan Y Mor Midwifery Team.
New parents who collectively recognise the ongoing pressures of NHS funding have decided to take it upon themselves to start a fundraising group that will aim to support the existing provision and help develop opportunities to support parents and families in the Porthcawl, Pyle, Kenfig Hill, Margam and Cefn Cribwr Area.
Volunteers are currently busy organising a series of fundraising events for the following year with the aim to raise as much money to support as many activities as possible in the Glan Y Mor Area. Says Volunteer Luarne Rees “ Parents in Partnership exists to express the gratitude that new parents have for the care they received throughout 9 very trying months of pregnancy. The support that the Midwives give isn’t just a 9 to 5 job – its 24 hrs 7 days a week and nothing is ever too much for them. The midwifes are unsung heroes in society who’s work is often over looked – we just want to say a big thank you and help them in anyway they feel we could”.
