Côr Meibion Clerwyr MAESTEG Gleemen Male Voice Choir


SO NEAR, BUT YET SO FAR

On Saturday 9th August the Choir competed at The National Eisteddfod of Wales, Cardiff and District and were successful in gaining the Runners-Up position and in doing so received £450.00 in prize money. The Competition which comprised of six other Choirs included the Winners of the Male Voice Choir section of the Cardigan Eisteddfod namely Hogiaur Ddwylan Male Voice Choir from North Wales.
Some other notable scalps were Côr Meibion Caerdydd, Côr Meibion Llangwm and Côr Meibion Blaenporth.
The eventual winners were Côr Meibion Tâf (Cardiff) and in third place were Bois Y Castell (Llandeilo).

FIRST SILVERWARE IN TWELVE YEARS

On Saturday 3rd May the Choir travelled to Ceredigion where they took 1st Place at the 2008 Eisteddfodau Teulu James Pantyfedwen, Pontrhydfendigaid. Picking up the GWALIA CUP and a £750.00 Prize.
2nd Place went to Aberystwyth Male Voice Choir with 3rd going to last years winners Blaenporth Male Voice Choir


The Choir are proud to announce the appointment of Mr Richard Williams-Jones as their Merchandise Manager
Richard, a retired Senior Officer with Avon Fire & Rescue Service is now Technical Director of ARJ FIRE SAFETY LTD who are Fire Safety Consultants & Trainers
Richard takes up his post with immediate effect following exceptional sales results in both Glasgow & Shrewsbury
