The Ramblers in Bridgend are a very active group of about 220 members who provide a regular programme of walks for all ages and fitness levels. We have 3 walks each Sunday throughout the year of about 5 miles; 8 miles and a long walk - dependent on time of year these can be a moderate 10 miles to a strenuous 15 miles.
In addition, there are two walks each month, on a Tuesday, of about 8 to 10 miles that are a favourite of those members who are retired.
Youíll see a variety of countryside and have time to look, question, smell and even taste - we all seem to enjoy picking blackberries and youíll sometimes be able to pick wild strawberries
Gradually, our programme of walks is expanding to give a greater variety of choice to our members. And for this we are grateful to our walks organisers and leaders.
Not all are walks are local to Bridgend as we roam anywhere across South Wales from the Gower to the Brecon Beacons to the Forest of Dean and all points in between. Everyone is welcome to try any of our many walks and you should visit our main website at http://www.bridgendramblers.co.uk/ for further detailed information of our current programme. Please have a look at the photographs on our website taken by some of our members.
South Wales has so many hidden places, a gorgeous variety of views and an industrial history second to none, yet many who live here donít know about them.
