Welcome to the Bridgend Friendship Centre

Hello,

At the Friendship Centre we welcome people over 50, whether employed or retired, and our main aim is to provide friendship, company, and enjoyment, together with information on aspects of life which affect older people.

We normally hold our Friendship Centre meetings on the second Thursday of the month in the Ogmore Constituency Labour Party Social Club on Bryntirion Hill, Bridgend; there is plenty of parking available and it is near a bus stop.

The meetings start at 2.15pm. We have speakers and presentations on a wide variety of interesting topics followed by refreshments and a chance to chat.

For our June meeting we are pleased to welcome back Polly Davies who is going to give us another of her excellent illustrated presentations; this time it is going to be about the construction of the Hoover Dam.

We have several other monthly get-togethers. On the Thursday following the monthly meeting we meet for coffee in the Fox Cafe/Wine bar, 9 Dunraven Place, Bridgend, (near the main Post Office) starting at 10.30am. On the first Thursday of the month we meet for afternoon tea at 2.00pm in Distinctive Antiques coffee shop opposite Boots in Porthcawl, and on the last Thursday of the month we go out for lunch at a variety of venues in and around Bridgend and Porthcawl. All of these activities are very popular with our members.
