The Womens Institute is the largest voluntary organisationin the UK. It was founded to educate women in a social environment and encourage them to take an effective role in the community.
The ideals of the Womens Institute of truth, justice and fellowship are as strong and important in the 21st century as they were 1915 when the first British WI branch opened in Llanfair PG, Anglesey. Aberkenfig & District WI is part of the Glamorgan Federation of Womens Institutes and joins in with most of the many varied activities organised by the Federation.
Aberkenfig and District branch was formed
in 1981 and celebrated its 35th Anniversary
in June 2013. Our branch covers Aberkenfig,
and surrounding areas. We meet at the
Len Evans Centre, Heol Persondy, Aberkenfig,
Bridgend, CF32 9PR
at 2.00 pm on the second Wednesday of each month.
President - Eunice Williams
